The first weekend in November always seems to be a busy time for a good number of Dukeries club members. On Saturday there is the Neil Howard Stages at Oulton Park which sees the start of the new 2022/23 MGJ Engineering Circuit Rally Championship. This championship is something that Dukeries MC, along with the other championship event organising clubs, is very involved with, and includes John Dove who is the Championship Co-ordinator and Howard Wilcock who is the Treasurer.
Dukeries crews on the Neil Howard entry list include John Griffiths and Emma Morrison (Fiesta R5), Alistair Staples and Neil Jones (Vauxhall Chevette HSR) and Matthew & Ellie Arnold (Citroen C2 GT) with the addition of leading co-drivers Laura Connell and Steve McNulty up in the top 10. The next round of the Circuit Rally Championship is the NHMC Cadwell Stages on Sunday 20th November which is also the final round of the 2022 Dukeries MC championship, Clubman Motorsport EMAMC and the Alpha Concrete ANEMMC stage rally championships.
We remind all competitors who want to be part of the new Circuit Rally Championship that they need to register on-line at www.rallies.info/webentry/2023/circuitchamp/webentry.php before their first event, to be eligible to score Circuit Rally class and overall championship points.
On Sunday 5th November it is the Malton Forest Rally up in North Yorkshire which is the penultimate round of the Dukeries, EMAMC and ANEMMC stage rally championships. Competitors on this event include Chris Skill (Mk 1 Escort) fresh from his success in winning Category C in the British Historic Rally Championship, Scott Renshaw in a historic spec Mk2 Escort rather than his usual Subaru, Paddy and Tom Homan in the Puma, George Morrison and Clive Allford in the MG ZR and Neil Commons and Bob Draper in a BMW Mini. Dave Welch and Andy Smith (Subaru) are amongst the very competitive 4-WD entry and hoping for better luck than last time out at Twyford. And not forgetting that ‘well-travelled’ co-driver Steve McNulty on his second event of the weekend.
There will also be several Dukeries club members up in the Yorkshire forests marshalling on the Malton event.
Good luck to everyone !
