Welcome to the Dukeries Motor Club Website
Dukeries Motor Club is based in Nottinghamshire and meets twice a month, every second Thursday and fourth Thursday, at the Mansfield Rugby Union Club, Eakring Road, Mansfield. (O.S. Map 120, Ref 574/611)
Dukeries Motor Club was formed in 1954 with the aim of
"promoting, encouraging and organising motor sport". It took its name from the area of rural North Nottinghamshire known as 'The Dukeries' which was once home to five Dukes. It is one of the regions leading motor clubs with an excellent reputation for organising events. In the past the club has organised up to six rallies each year, but efforts nowadays are concentrated on two major special stage events, the
Dukeries Rally which runs in June and the
Premier Rally in November.
In addition to the organisation of these events, Dukeries members assist other motor clubs by marshalling on many events throughout the year, including the Rally of Great Britain, the final round of the FIA World Rally Championship, in November. Many Dukeries club members are active competitors and their efforts over the years have meant that Dukeries Motor Club has won both the East Midlands Association (EMAMC) and the North East Midlands Association (ANEMMC) Club Championships on many occasions. The club also runs its own rally championship for club competitors with end of season trophies and cash prizes. (see Club Calendar for further details)
Dukeries Motor Club Ltd is affiliated to the Royal Automobile Club Motor Sports Association (the MSA) which is the governing body of motor sport in Great Britain. It is also a member of five Regional Motor Club Associations; the EMAMC, ANEMMC, AEMC, AWMMC & ANCC.
If you think you may be interested in joining Dukeries Motor Club or wish to renew your current membership, please complete the
Membership Form (PDF format) and send to the Membership Secretary. The club has now moved to a fixed renewal date (to pull us into line with the MSA licencing scheme). Therefore subscriptions due between January 1st and June 30th will run until 31st December. with Single/Joint membership costing £12.00 (although you need seperate memberships if more than 1 is a competing member).
18/01/2012: Entries open for Flying Fortress Stages Rally
Entries are now open for the inaugural running of the Flying Fortress Stages Rally on Sunday 18th March 2012. This new single venue stage rally organised by Dukeries MC will be held on the former WW2 American 8th Air Force Base at Grafton Underwood near Kettering. The venue is new to motorsport and allows the organising team to provide approximately 47 stages miles in 8 stages.
The Flying Fortress Stages is a round of 3 Regional Stage Rally Championships; the Rainworth Skoda EMAMC Single Venue Stage Championship, Roadrunner/Phoenix Awards ANEMMC Stage Championship and the Ward Construction AEMC Stage Championship.
The concrete tracks (some parts of which are tree-lined), are in good condition and the venue will provide a challenging days motorsport. The Flying Fortress Stages will be a true one day event with Scrutineering from 7.00am and the 1st car starting at 9.30am and finish around 4.30pm.
The organisers have limited the maximum number of entries to 60 to ensure that the event runs as smoothly as possible, so entries are likely to be at a premium.
For more information see the event website - www.flyingfortressstages.co.uk
We encourage competitors to use the web-entry system where possible to simplify and speed up the submission of entries. There is the facility to pay by Bank Transfer or Paypal and to encourage early entries we will not bank entry cheques until 8th March.
