SCORING
Points awarded will be different for Multi Venue and Single Venue events, to reflect
the higher cost of entering forest events and to encourage competitors to enter
the clubs own forest events.
For a competitor to be eligible for the
Overall Champion award they must
have entered and competed in
BOTH multi-venue and single venue rallies.
- Multi-Venue (Forest) Rallies
Competitors will be awarded
Double Points i.e. 20 points will be awarded
to the highest placed Dukeries driver/co-driver in each class, 16 points to the
second placed driver/co-driver, 14 points to the third and so on down to 4 points
to the eight placed driver/co-driver and every subsequent Dukeries driver/co-driver
that finish the event. 2 points will be awarded to every non-finisher. Historic
cars will be scored against modern cars by a comparison of the overall rally/stage
times, the car with the fastest time gets the most points. A competitors best
3 scores
from 4 events will count.
- Single-Venue Rallies
Competitors will be awarded Standard Points i.e. 10 points will be awarded to the
highest placed Dukeries driver/co-driver in each class, 8 points to the second placed
driver/co-driver, 7 points to the third and so on down to 2 points to the eight
placed driver/co-driver and every subsequent Dukeries driver/co-driver that finish
the event. 1 point will be awarded to every non-finisher. A competitors best
5 scores
from 7 events will count.
- Overall Scores
Eligible scores from multi venue, single venue and marshal/official will be added
together, the competitor with the highest combined score will win the overall championship.
A competitor must compete in both categories to win the overall champion award.
If you only compete on multi venue or single venue events, even though your may
score more points, you will not win the Overall Champion award.
In the event of a tie at the end of the year, each contender will be given 1 bonus
point for each car they beat in their own class on the last event in the competition
calendar, i.e. If you beat 6 cars in your class on the Premier Rally or the Harold
Palin Rally (only finishers in the class count) you will be given 6 extra points,
if you did not compete in the event, you get no bonus points. If necessary this
will be calculated back on each event until a winner is found.
To encourage competitors to participate as an Official or Marshal there are an additional
5 points that can be claimed as a bonus when you participate on any of the events
in the championship calendar. To claim these bonus points you need to be “Signed
On” as an Official or Marshal.
The Championship Points tables will be published at regular intervals during the
year in the Dukeries Newsletter and on the Club Website. In addition the latest
Championship Points tables will be posted on the Club Notice Board at every club
night. The Championship scorer will calculate the scores for each event. However
should there be a query regarding your points total, it is the competitors responsibility
to bring this to the officials attention. Obviously endeavours will be made to prevent
mistakes.
CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS
The award structure will now include three champions, these will be “Single Venue
Champion”, “Multi Venue (Forest) Champion” and “Overall Champion”. For a competitor
to be eligible for the Overall Champion award they must have entered and competed
in BOTH multi-venue (forest) and single venue rallies.
No competitor may win more than one of the top three named awards, (If you win the
overall award, you cannot then win the multi venue, single venue or a class award).
However, points in multiple classes will count towards each of the named trophies,
(i.e. If a co-driver competes in different class cars at different single or multi
venue events, these would all count towards a named trophy).
Winners of the class awards can win in more than one class or category (i.e. you
