2008 DUKERIES RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP The 2008 Dukeries Rally Championship is open to all paid up Dukeries Motor Club members. The Championship will be based on the results from a selection of popular Multi Venue and Single Venue Stage Rallies to which Dukeries Motor Club members are invited. The Championship will be open to both Drivers and/or Co-drivers and will include 5 separate classes. Competitors 7 best scores will count.

If through force majeure any of the qualifying rounds cannot take place, the Championship organisers reserve the right to either include another event or to alter the number of scores to count.
Competitors must enter the events as Dukeries Motor Club members and should carry Dukeries decals which will be supplied FOC. Please contact the championship Co-ordinator prior to your first event and the decals will be forwarded (if not they will sent after you have entered your first event as a DMC competitor) There is no championship registration fee or form to complete.
CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES
There will be five separate Championship classes with separate categories for Drivers and Co-Drivers.
Class 1 - Up to and including 1400cc
Class 2 - Over 1400cc up to and including 1600cc
Class 3 - Over 1600cc up to and including 2000cc
Class 4 - Over 2000cc 2 wheel drive
Class 5 - All 4 wheel drive cars over 2000cc
The engine capacities stated are after multiplying the actual capacity by the forced induction equivalency factor of 1.7. This does not apply to Diesel engines.
SCORING
10 points will be awarded to the highest placed Dukeries driver/co-driver in each class, 8 points to the second placed driver/co-driver, 7 points to the third and so on down to 2 points to the eight placed driver/co-driver and every subsequent Dukeries driver/co-driver that finish the event. 1 point will be awarded to every non-finisher. A competitors 7 best scores will count.
To encourage club members to participate on Dukeries Motor Clubs home events there will be 3 bonus points to be added to any score from the Dukeries Rally and the Premier Rally.
To encourage competitors to also participate as an Official or Marshal there is an additional 5 points that can be claimed as an end of year bonus if you participate as a Official or Marshal on any of the events in the 2008 Championship calendar. To claim these bonus points you need to be Signed On as an Official or Marshal.
In addition to the traditional Championship awards there will be a Drivers Challenge for the highest scoring driver using the BTRDA Allrounders scoring system. This system awards points depending on your overall class position and the number of starters in the event class. This system is able to accommodate all the different cars / classes and the level of competition in each of the classes.
The Championship Points tables will be published at regular intervals during the year in the Dukeries Newsletter and on the Club website. In addition the latest Championship Points tables will be posted on the Club Notice Board. The Championship scorer / co-ordinator will calculate the scores for each event. However should there be a query regarding your point’s total it is the competitors responsibility to bring this to the co-ordinators attention. Obviously endeavours will be made to prevent mistakes.
